zovirax

it is the only thing that works

PortiaNovmerriment · 01/06/2010 19:26

There is a fantastic little zapper machine that Boots sell- really well reviewed. Maybe somebody can remember the name?

cocolepew · 01/06/2010 19:26

Lemon balm is supposed to be good, Zovirax is good, but better if you get it at the tingle stage. I've used tea tea oil and tcp before but it stings like billyho.

addictedtolatte · 01/06/2010 19:45

thanks for that it sounds like zovirax it is then.

if your Mum is prone to coldsores, I have found taking a lysine supplement is a great preventative. Not much good if she already has them but it does seem to stop mine from recurring.

Craftynap · 01/06/2010 20:55

second the lysine supplement, worked for me

addictedtolatte · 03/06/2010 11:33

thanks both for the lysine advice i will let her know and am sure she will take it. prevention is better than cure anyday

Has your mum been sun-bathing? Sunlight can be a trigger for the virus to make a coldsore come. Perhaps sun screen is a good iead.
