Panicking...weird discharge

Has anybody else had this/know what it is. I'm kind of on my period (end of period, just started pill they've gone a bit weird)

And sorry if TMI

I've just noticed on top of my sanitary pad bits of silvery 'stuff' like stretchy thin pieces of skin, small, grey/silver in colour.... never had anything like that before, please help I'm starting to panic about it!!

I suppose it could've been caused by the treatment and then disturbed by the examination so that you start getting the little bits? That would make sense if it was caused the same way as mine, but was not shed at the time. It does sound exactly like what I had, except that in my case it all came out in one go and with you it is coming out in small pieces. I am still not entirely sure what it was, but it seemed like a layer of skin that had been shed from somewhere.

Sorry I don't have any real answers for you, but I was in a complete panic when it happened to me (biopsies in sept and oct and treatment in dec) and was particularly worried that no one seemed to know what it was, so I hope it is some comfort that you are not the only one. No lasting damage here (although I have my 6 month check up on 16th June...), it just all seemed to come out, then a few little bit in the days after, and then was gone and I just had some bloody discharge.

After having the docs giving me the look about the black stuff, I was just thinking here we go again!

I have been 'bleeding' for 20 days now! 4 days of black discharge, 6 of 'proper' period, 7 days of brown very light period and then 3 days of bleeding with this grey stuff. I feel like a bit of a freak!

Hopefully these tablets will work and all this will stop in time for the wedding and honeymoon. Doctor should be calling soon too.

Ok... doctor called and so relived, but also

When examining me, he did something to my cervix to stop the bleeding. He didn't tell me this, nor did he tell me I may pass some grey stuff afterwards.

Still at least I know what it is now! Thanks for all your help!

Don't know if this is of any use to you because I haven't had any treatment on my cervix but years and years ago when I used to be vegetarian I used to have black/deep brown like periods that went on for too long. It was because I was loosing too much iron. Maybe you should take iron tablets, good ones, like Floradix. You should see your consultant asap.

Thank you seeshore - I was taking floradix when preg and bf but stopped. I always notice that I have more energy when taking it as well, so gotta be worth a try!

It should definitely help, your periods are a great way of keeping track of your health, so you're right to be concerned, it must be scary after what you have been through, I really hope it sorts itself out.
