Small clots in menstrual blood

My period started last night and have had a heavy flow all day, but this time I am passing loads of tiny clots, this has never happened before.
The clots really are tiny. the largest has been about the size of the end of a pencil, but most are a lot smaller.
Is this anything to worry about, have I just been lucky so far and most people have this? or is it something I should be questioning?

I have little clots like that from time to time, never worried about it tbh.
I would keep an eye on it and see if they get bigger myself.
maybe someone else has other advice?

Menstrual fluid is more than just blood, it is the lining of the womb. It can vary in consistency for lots of reasons. If your flow is very heavy for more than the first few days, excessively 'blobby' and especially if there's any pain or discomfort associated then it can be worth talking to a doctor. If not, then really don't worry.
