pain sufferers - any tips to reduce pain from a damaged nerve?

Cause it really hurts, can only take paracetamol and use witch hazel compresses to reduce swelling.
Not allowed aspirin based meds so brufin and anti-inflams are out.

Anything i can do to make it more bareable? I have been told up to six months to settls ouch.

Oh its the nerve that runs elbow to wrist, damaged in two points (wrist and elbow).

You need your GP to prescribe you a neuropathic painkiller such as Gabapentin or Pregabalin. However, they have side effects and may take some getting used to (I have recently stopped taking Pregabalin for nerve pain - was the only thing that worked for me).

Or another alternative is Amitriptyline - again used as nerve painkiller. It is a very low dose given of an anti-depressant.

I couldn't tolerate the side effects, but others swear by this!

i actually have some amitriptyline, 10mg/10ml dosage that i am supposed to take for migraines but am useless at remembering to not forget to take. Will try to remember tonight, and hopefully it will help. Thank you!
