Anyone got PMT DURING their period (not just before)

Hi Im mainly on mental health boards at the moment. Going through a very difficult episode of anxiety/depression which im being treated for.

Im just trying to record my moods though and it seems that it gets worse not only in the few days leading up to my period but up until about day 5 too. I dont know if this is just the depression though rather than linked to PMT. Isnt it meant to go away as soon as period starts? Anyone else get the same?

Thanks

Ive just done a search and found that i put up the same questions four years ago!!

Would still be interested from others though.

Seems that kizzie in 2006 had exactly the same symptoms as kizzie in 2010.

When my period returned after having ds2, for a few months I had PMT on the day my period started. I could have ripped someone's head off if they looked at me the wrong way

I had never experienced PMT before and luckily it was only for a few cycles. I put it down to my hormones being a bit inbalanced.

PlumBumMum · 17/05/2010 19:48

I am in a foul mood today and it is day 3 of my period

BigBadMummy · 17/05/2010 19:48

I DO NOT HAVE PMT. ALRIGHT?

I DO NOT GET IT DURING MY PERIOD, OR BEFORE IT.

I AM NOT MOODY AND NOT RATTY. I DO NOT SCREAM AT MY DH ONE WEEK A MONTH OR BURST INTO TEARS FOR NO REASON.

EVER

GOT IT?

OK?

I'm the same bad pmt before and most of the way through, I think it might be because it tires me out. I find the 1st couple of periods after having a baby terrible, at leats because of bfeeding I can avoid it for some time.

Actually I've had pmt now for days waiting for 2nd period after having ds 10 months.

Before your period your temperature rises and I suppose that adds to the general bad mood of the whole thing.

Good luck Kizzie, times can be tough, I really hope you things improve for you

hell yes! My PMT arrives about 2 hours after my period....luckily it is shortlived, but I am vile!

Vit B 6 complexes help, they really do! You have to take it every day for several weeks before you notice beneifts.

And don't, DON'T call me Tetchy!!!!

thanks everyone - I'll keep a note of dates and see if there is any link.
But from your posts it does look like it can carry on through period as well as before it.

I usually get it really badly on day 1. I'm not always angry, but am very emotional and feel like bursting into tears all the time over things that normally wouldn't upset me.

elliemental · 18/05/2010 13:29

I get really tearful for one day almost exactly the week before. In a nobody loves, me, everybody hates me, think i'll go and eat worms in the garden sort of way.

then a week later, period arrives and I think ''ohhhhhhh, riiiiight!''
