I havewaited 4 months to have a period and it is awful. I am having big clots, passed soomething last night that looked like a bit of umbilical cord. The bleeding is so bad i had to change pyjamas 3 times last night cos was flooding. Is this normal? I had a c section with both my daughters and can it was not like this last time

This happened to me too - it was much better the next month, although still heavier than I was used to. Might be worth checking with the doctor if it is worrying you though.

Have you been bf all this time? When I didn't have a period for 4/5 months due to bf it was truly hideous, couldn't believe it and my periods have stayed much heavier than ever before, not sure if it's just because I'm older or because dd2 was much bigger than dd1!

No havent breast fed it just took this length of time to come. The doctor gave me the pill to start taking when it got to 3 month to try and kick start them again, which obviously has worked, i am having the hot flushes the lot. Hope its not like this next month
