Migraine and the pill- which brand?

bit of a long shot this but my DD is now on her 3rd Pill- all have made her migraines worse.
She has had Dianette- for acne- stopped that one quite soon, then Yasmin, now Loestren ( sp). She might have had another one to but name escapes me.
her GP is happy for her to keep trying but I wondered if anyone had any good reports on what helped them?

I had Loestrin 20 (so oestrogen does was lower). It was really good so if she's on Loestrin 30, it might be worth her asking to have a lower dose.

No, it's 20, thanks.

Microgynon 30? Didn't have headaches but did make me cry a lot!

Microgynon gave me incredible migraine auras. I've only ever had migraine auras without the headache and only very sporadically (could be two or three years between attacks). On microgynon, I had two or three over the space of a week, each aura lasting about an hour (much longer than usual), making me feel very buzzy and peculiar, and felt very spaced out for a couple of hours afterwards. I haven't touched hormonal contraception ever since!

Is your dd using the pill for contraception, or for other reasons? If only for contraception, I'd probably suggest she tries another form of contraception, rather than the combined pill. The mini pill is supposed to be safer for people who get migraines.

I was put on cerezette as i have very bad migraines. It was the only one GP offered but it didnt make my migraines any worse.
