Are they another name for migraines?
I've been getting bad headaches, which feels like a migraine headache, but doesn't have the visual disturbances I get with migraines and tend to be on one side of the head, not all over.
Someone mentioned that they could be something called cluster headaches, and wondered if nayone else suffers these? Or is it just a migriane in a different from

I get migraines like this, mine are about 50/50 half all over with full on visual disturbance and vomiting etc, other half, one sided and no visual stuff.
Dr tells me they're all migraine and my migraine meds work for both so am happy with that!

DP gets cluster headaches.

He's had them for years and had little help from the GPs at first until he actually found out himself what they were and spoke to a different GP about it.

He was then prescribed a nasal Sumatriptan spray (although GPs don't like prescribing this as its v expensive) -it does the trick though and is the only thing thats ever worked for him. Migraine meds never touched the pain.

This site was quite helpful for info

I found this site useful when I was trying to find out what type my headaches were. I was diagnosed with cluster headaches just because I'd had 3 severe headaches in the space of 2 weeks. My GP thinks they were actually tension/anxiety headaches which I think is more correct in my case but he did prescribe me some tablets should I get another bad headache which would stop that headache triggering any more.
