She is feeling very low at the moment. Is it something that she will be able to live with at her home without care or will she need to move in with us (or care home if she chooses) to get the extra help?
How can I find out more about Parkinsons as many of the websites that I have come across are full of medical jargon.

How stressful for you all.

Michael J Fox has parkinsons disease.

There's alot of medication that is being developed at the moment, it all depends on how bad your mum's symptoms are. Have you had a look at the parkinson's society web site?

I'm sorry about your mother. My mom's ex was diagnosed with Parkinsons about 15 years ago. They are divorced now, but 3 years ago when they were still a couple, he was doing well at home, with no extra help needed. He did tire faster and couldn't walk as much as he liked, but he got a motorized scooter which really improved his quality of life. He is 85 now.
