Pelvic Floor - Help

Has anybody used any of the "products" available to strengthen your pelvic floor - you know cones and weights things - am starting to get fed up of leaks when laughing, coughing etc.
Are any of them any good or is it back to squeezing everytime I stop at a red light?

I've heard of a TVT, but not a Colpol. Please climb back up onto your soapbox and explain? (All info gratefully received, who knows what my situation may be in future.)

Boyand Girl basically a Colpol Suspenion op is where they cut through your stomach along the bikini line and I think try and stitch the bladder back into postion against the public bone. I think they try and hoist the pelvic floor into a better position too while they are at it. As I've said before it major, as they cut through all the abdominal muscles and have a good rumage around while they are in there. It's a week in hospital + 6 to 8 weeks off work - longer for me as I had an infection. Then you can't pick anything up for ages as with a hyterectomy. The only draw back with a TVT is they don't know what the longevity of them is accuratly after a 10 year period - but for my money I would much rather go through a TVT every ten years than one Colpol. Hope it helps.

Actually I probably have got a public bone as it seems most of Leicestershire had a good look at it one way or another!!!

Aargh. You really would have to be desperate to voluntarily undergo such a procedure.

I was! The final straw was hearing my little girl saying 'my Mummy doesn't run, I think she's too old' - that did it.....

I just wanted to back up Mumski on this one. I had a TVT-O done 2 weeks ago and YES IT WORKS!! It's slightly different to the TVT in that the 2 incisions are in the groin rather than on your tummy. I was in hospital overnight and back to work a week later. After 20 years of being frightened to run or cough without first 'clenching' which worsened after having my daughter 4 years ago, this is like having a brand new life. I can't rave about this enough! Don't suffer like I did, go find out more and live your life.
Love Anne x
