Lovely topic, I know, but I've just had a HALO haemorrhoidectomy and haven't been given much information about it. Has anyone else had one? I've found long threads discussing posterior repair and rectocele repair here on mn but nothing much about haemorrhoidectomies.
I just wondered whether it would be a matter of days or weeks before my bottom felt fairly normal again. At the moment I'm back home, dosing myself with ibuprofen and paracetamol alternately and each takes about 4hrs to wear off. I'm also more tired than usual so sleeping a lot.
Dp is doing a great job cooking and looking after our three kids (although 21m old ds3 seems to be breastfeeding more than usual to make up for the 30 odd hours I was away from him). He's booked a fair bit of time off work but it would be good to know how much of that time he needs to be housekeeping and whether we'll get any quality time together before he goes back again (which i think was the intention).
