noro/D&V... what are the earliest symptoms? (poss TMI!)

felt absolutely fine this morning at 8 when I took DS to nursery but have just had two slightly explosive runs, my tummy is gurgling and bubbling and I've had one wave of nausea but not thrown up.

Am I paranoid or am I coming down with something unpleasant?

Need to decide now whether DH goes off to work or stays home as I probably shouldn't go into the nursery later to pick up if I'm like this.

I haven't eaten anything particularly odd. Due my period.

anyone?

I had it a month ago, two days after DC. Suddenly didn't feel like eating dinner, went to bed and felt progressively worse with nausea - finally spent from about midnight to three am throwing up/lying on floor of bathroom. The runs started a few hrs later and went on for over a week! For the first day I just couldn't do anything - kind neighbour took DCs to and from school whilst I stayed horizontal and near the bathroom.

For me, and my DCs, it definitely started with nausea and vomiting rather than at the other end.

thanks - I slept for five hours after I wrote that message and then was ill (in both ways) resulting in feeling very weak. Felt flu-like by the afternoon and eventually managed some water biscuits about 8pm. Then the baby threw up violently after having been put to bed, but we're not convinced it was the same thing, as he then slept like an angel until 3am when he was ravenous. Cheery and bouncy this morning. I am still a bit weak but mostly ok.

With the flu-like symptoms I reckon it was more a gastric flu than a norovirus. Anyway, seems to be all over now. Phew!

I think I have just had it.

Felt unwell Friday evening, was sick 6 times on Saturday then had the most horrendous runs of my life for 5 days- day and night. Stayed in bed all weekend feeling as if I was going to die.

Now I am just beginning to feel better but very weak and haven't worked all week.
