Verrucas in pregnancy

I've never had a verruca before but I'm now 17 weeks pregnant and suddenly have 3 on one foot and 2 on the other (at least I assume they are verrucas - little hard round spots that look and feel like they are sort of mostly under the skin.) I know this can be because your immune system is a bit ropier in pregnancy.

Anyway, two are really painful as they are on the ball of my foot. Can I treat them in pregnancy? And are there any obvious precautions I should take (having never had them, I have no idea what to do!)? I tend to walk around the house barefoot - is this a good idea (get the air to them rather than be in sweaty socks) or a bad idea (ideal way to spread it to DH and DS!)

Thanks!

They are horribly contagious so if you go barefoot, cover them up with plasters.

I had one a while ago (I wasn't preg at the time) and the best way I found to get rid of it is extra strength Bazooka. Those little medicated plasters you can get were hopeless.

Most treatments are basically salicylic (sp?) acid, so I'd ask your midwife if it's ok before using.

I had loads when I was pregnant.. Pop some gaffa / duck tape on them.. And rub them down and put mor tape on them until they are gone.

Works well and don't get desperate enough like I did and take a stanley knife to them

yy gaffa tape or micropore a square of banana skin with the inside next to your skin every night

thanks! stanley knife was my first instinct, cupcake! will try hacking them off rubbing them down and then see if we have gaffa tape anywhere.

tbh i'm unfathomably pleased with weird little bodily illness things and get all Holby City so finally getting verrucas is a little exciting but then i have a 2yo and am pregnant, so don't get out very much...
