I can't seem to find out via google whether it would be ok, as far as I can gather not enough research has been done yet.

(I suppose there must be a "contraceptive" topic on here but I can't find it, sorry)

I considered this some time ago but read that St John's Wort interferes with hormonal forms of contraception, which I guessed would include the Mirena. Decided not to take the risk. Sorry not an expert.

"Mirena does not interact with other drugs, foods or alcohol." from a quick google, on a medical site.

paisleyleaf · 04/04/2010 22:41

On here it says that there is a possibility the effect of the mirena may be reduced.
here says "it is known to counteract the effect of certain drugs, including hormone-based contraceptives" which is what I knew wrt the pill.

wouldn't like to say.

I don't think I dare.

I'm not convinced anyone actually knows.

It also might be worth considering that the mirena coil can cause depression.

It's tension I'm struggling with really. I had it fitted 3 months ago and I've generally been feeling a lot better until the last week or so. I saw an article recommending a combination of both agnus castus and sjw for pmt, hence the query.

I think it's my age (45).
