I posted about this ages ago but it has come back.

very gross i do warn yuo dont read on if your squeemish!!!!! i do appologise in advance

Anyway DS does 'proper' poos about 3 times a day about every 3-4 hours by proper i mean, yellowis brown paste with what ever hes been eating in, smells bad. your bog standard poo (sorry no pun intended)

But in between every poo normal poo, he has a nappy full of bright orange (sweet and sour sauce colour) liquid no lumps nothing just liquid looks kinda oily and its the worst smelling thing i have ever smelt! literaly!
anyway he hasnt eaten anything new, he is teething so his normal ones are slightly sloppyer, but this other stuff is absolutley foul it stains his skin!

my problems are as follows.

  1. what is is?
  2. whys he getting it?
  3. is it dr appointment worthy?

the other think as it goes streight through any brand of nappys and stains even when i bleach his whites and use strong stain remover.
so......

  1. how do i get it out his clothes?

Apart from his normal teething signs hes absoulutlye fine and dandy - any ideas???
5. can i stop it leaking?

I would go and see your GP.

My first thought was that 3-4 times a day was quite alot and as for the other stuff I wonder if it is a reaction to something?

Could it be something he's eating?

With the clothes I would use your normal washing powder with a bit of oxi clean powder and wash on a 90.

charleepeters · 24/07/2005 21:43

He hasnt eaten anything that he hasnt always eaten! thats what im puzzled about! he has a dairy allergy but i strictly make sure he never eats anything with it in!

Will a 90 wash shrink his clothes??

I think I know the poo you mean and DS's had it (REALLY stains- nothing on theis planet will touch that!), however 2 of my DS's have food intolerances so I don't know if it's normal (but I am pretty certain DS2, the only milk tolerant one, had this poo too), also you are supposed to get greasy, oily poo checked out just in case.

Ds used to do bright orange poo after eating carrot (one of his favourite first foods).
How is he otherwise?

I was worried about doing the 90 wash but it was fine. It even got out really old tomato, carrot and banana stains!

dinny · 24/07/2005 21:51

is he breastfed, Charleepeters?

charleepeters · 24/07/2005 21:54

Carrott doesnt usually effect him.
hes fine in himself, a bit grizzle but his first tooths just poping out.
its not sticky or any blood, i know this sounds strange but i looks like neon orange oil! it stains his skin badly and his clothes even more.
Im not sure weather to take him to the g.p as hes fine other than that, the only other thing is the smell, i mean i know poo smells bad but this is on a different scale al together!

If you're concerned (which you obv are) I would take him to GP - no harm in doing so. Sorry, no suggestions. Would suggest some food intolerance maybe....?
