Anyone else get sciatica while pregnant? Mine came on when I was 8wks pg and is still hanging around, ds is 23wks now....

Someone said it would improve when I stop bfing, as it's caused by the relaxin hormone.

Has anyone had experience of this and if so, when did it go?

yes have you tried a TENS machine?

Sorry to have been so brief was feeding DD.

Had horrible sciatica in first pregnancy ; could hardly walk at all worst at about 7-8 months. Used a TENS machine - about £20-30 from BOOTS - Worked a treat.
If it hadn't next plan was acupuncture. Was pain free form about 8 months to birth and it didn't come back in second pregnancy.

Thanks Pardon - might try that. Will see if I can borrow one from a preggo friend.

Am a terrible cynic so haven't tried chiropractics/osteos/acupuncture but maybe I'm cutting off my nose to spite my face!

I am a conventional medic so I understand the cynicism and have no idea how these things work but they certainly did for me. Most of the time there is little to lose apart from a few pounds
