I'm panicking because I am now bleeding....

I had my 1st repair 6 years ago when I was 41 that went ok, I've had no problems till beginning of 2009 when I knew straight away my prolapseprolapse had dropped again. This time though I had the 'wetting when I coughed' or 'wetting when I sneezed' sometimes didn't make it in time to the toilet etc etc, so in June 2009 they operated to repair the front and back wall, and repair my bladder.....Bladder operation worked but the prolapse didn't. Of I went back to the gynaecologistgynaecologist who said I would have to wait 6 months to heal before I could have the operation done again. So went back to work and on December 18th they operated AGAIN, and AGAIN it didn't work. To say I was gutted is an under statement. It's messed my life up, basically I've had to cancel starting college in September, I was due to get married in August 2010 and I've cancelled that too, till I have recovered from this, also I haven't been back to work because the doctors wouldn't sign me off so I could return to work. I have just come out of hospital on Sunday 21st March after having another operation-Cystocoele repair with mesh on Friday March 19th, so now I am now off work till the beginning of May.
The questions I have now are:

  1. How do you know the operation has worked this time? How long do you bleed for? Having not had a period for 10 years I'm not liking this bleding and it is worrying me.
  2. What is next for me if the operation hasn't worked?
  3. Do you know a good vet who will put me down? LOL

Oh gosh ,sounds awful .
Not much advice ,but obviously you need to talk to the consultant .
Could you ring the hospital ,maybe the ward you were on if you don't know who to ask ?
When I was recovering from hysterectomy and waiting for a repair ,I was devestated by affect on my bladder .
I wrote to consultant with my worries and lo !,he replied .
Just a thought ,as I find letters easier than phone ,you can get out what you want to say .And it can be a nightmare phoning hospital.
Wishing you well...

Sorry to hear you are having such problems.
When you say the prolapse is still there-do you mean your uterus has slipped own-or do you mean the cystocele is still there but with no leaking now?

What did the dr say you could expect?
What type of bleeding is it?

Did you have a very early menopause as you said you have not bled for 10 years- or a hysterectomy?
