What is the contraceptive implant like?

I'm thinking about getting the implant. We now have 2 DS's and don't plan on more for at least another 2-3 years. DS1 was from IVF (DS2 natural miracle) so I don't want anything that could affect fertility after I come off it. I haven't used contraception for about 8 years so it's all new to me again, but I quite like the idea of the implant.
Would you recommend it?

hi i am on my second implant now - brill first time and got pregnant within 3 months of trying once it was removed. with current implant bit more trouble with breakthrough bleeding so have to take top up pill but would probably still choose it again over pill alone (to much risk am too forgetful)

I wouldn't recommend it.

I had mine in for 11 months and hated it.
While it was in I bled almost constantly.
My moods were terrible.
I had palpitations, Dizziness, shortness of breath, Lack of concentration and my hair fell out.

I had it removed at the beginning of march and I'm feeling so much better already.

I loved it, no pregnancies and no periods - lovely. Had 2 implants, one after the other and no problems conceiving when removed.

Worked OK for me, though my periods were completely random, which annoyed me. Still have a scar from having it removed though. Also a bit odd having this plastic stick in your arm!

I decided to go for a Mirena after DD2,
