hi - ds was born 11 weeks ago and have recently realised that I have no armpit hair!! I shaved before he was born but haven't touched it since...and nothing is growing. Legs looking pretty sparse too. He's my 2nd and I didn't get this first time round.
Any one else had this?

Might be worth you getting your thyroid levels checked at the doctors.

It's not unusual for woman to have a thyriod imbalance post partum!

Excellent. Seems like you are not the only one though

here

I think this one is on about head hair, but it may be the reason for yours too

normal here too

Thanks both - it is quite handy i'll agree but a bit weird!

I knew about postnatal head hair loss, but didn't think about body hair in general. Am not losing any from my head so just thought i'd see if anyone else had any experience of this.

I might get it checked at Docs in case of thyroid - thanks for that.

google sheehans syndrome if you feel unwell and things dont improve
it is damage to the pituitary gland in childbirth(even c sec) and causes secondary hypothyroidism which doesnt show on gps tests
hope its just smooth pits!!!!

How marvellous- I'd be thrilled. How about your leg hair?

PardonMyClench · 26/03/2010 22:59

bet it's not pituitary dysfunction. Same thing happens to me when pregnant and until I get my periods back post-breastfeeding.

Enjoy don't fret.

My pubes were the first to go,they were about half the normal amount, and a different colour and texture! How weird is that? With both babies. They did grow back eventually.
