Please come and tell me about your experiences with swollen glands.

I am feeling freakishly wierd and am scared.

Bit of back ground.

Before Xmas the glands under my chin came up. No sore throat. They have been up and down almost daily since.

March 09 referred to breast clinic with lumps in breast and armpit was told I was fine just swollen lymph nodes which have remained there ever since. So relieved to not have breast cancer did not think to ask about the the nodes and no one seemed concerned as they said "its just swollen lymph nodes"!

Past few weeks been feeling more under the weather. Back pain. Pain in my left side/back- sort of where the kidney is. More and more glands coming up.

Went to GP last week. They did not as much as look at me. They sent me for blood tests which I had done yesterday. Results due next week.

I had a pretty rough weekend and I have had daily, glands up under my chin, in my neck, along my collar bone and under my arms and I think now my groin too. I feel a tugging sensation in my arm and legs.

Last night my joints went stiff (knees, shoulders, elbows etc) also had a weird tingly type senstion up my face and down my legs.

Have just phoned GP for an urgent appointment as I have awoken today with the same intermittant tingly sensation although my glands seem to be moreless down - but they tend to be 1st thing and get worse as the day progresses.

Am scared the sensations are freaking me out.
My appointment is at 10.40 and I feel like I am wasting GPS time as glands are down (typically).

DH is away this week and I am here alone and am worried and scared.

Anyone have ideas of what could be wrong? Anyone had similar experiences?

try not to worry, there are lots of things it can be, even something as simple as a virus, they come in all sorts of guises, wait for your blood test results, & just relax & look after yourself until then,

maybe try Epsom salts baths, or taking a magnesium supplement, this helps your body deal better with stress, & pain....& illness of any kind is a stress on your body

your immune system is obviously fighting something, but like I say, it doesn't have to be serious......hence the glands & tugging sensations as they are swollen & hitting ligaments etc......the tingling can be because the swollen glands can also be pinching nerves........ I had the same with swollen neck glands hitting the trimegal nerve (or something like that caused a lot of pain, tingling & numbness & even eye problems.

I suffer a lot with swollen glands, so I do know it can effect all sorts of things

Thanks! Feeling alot calmer now.

Some bloods were back already. They show nothing sinister.

Dr said probably a virus and stress.

That tingly feeling really freaked me out. Hope it does not happen again.

Urine sample now gone off too.
