How many times a day do you go for a wee?

Because I am wondering if I have an over active bladder.

I have been 5 times already today, amd was wondering if that was excessive?

On a morning I can go 3 times before leaving for school/work. I can go just minutes after already weeing and still more will come out.

I do drink a lot of water throughout the day. I don't ever need to wee in the night and I do not wee when I sneeze or do star jumps.

Thoughts please?

Can't believe I'm going to share this, but...

I had this problem a few years ago, just like you, no problems with being able to hold it, no leaking or anything, just had to go frequently.

I think in my case it was due to being a SAHM. Just pottering about at home I'd keep passing the bathroom so was tempted to go to the loo while I was there IYSWIM.

I found that I'd have problems on days out etc as I was used to being able to go whenever I wanted, so wasn't used to having to hang on.

I made a concious effort to go less often at home to train my bladder a bit and it did help. Getting a job and being not so near a toilet helped too!

Do you drink lots of tea or coffee? that makes me go more often

Two or three during the day.
Never at night.

I drink about 2-3 litres of water a day too so I must have a bladder the size of Texas.

If you see a dr they will ask you if you go more than 8 times in 24 hours. So that gives you a yardstick.

There are message boards and advice on all kinds of bladder issues.

I used to have a mix of OAB and IC- sometimes I could go 20 times a day when I was having a bad day.

My bladder is stil sensitive and holds less than most people's.

Just been for 6th time so yes I will do more than 8. Will check out that link, tahnks.

Does that mean I have 'urine constipation' then?

It depends on how much you have to drink surely?

Although when I am nervous, I sometimes want to wee more...

I'm always in the loo. At night, I even have what DH calls 'wee o'clock'. Its definitely a psychological weirdness, rather than physical. I also drink a lot of tea.

Morning, early afternoon, before bed, usually. Except when pregnant.

I remember after my first child was born how glad I was to be free of the constant loo trips. Then the midwife told me I should go more often as it would help my uterus return to normal size - is that really true?

At least 10 or 11, and I've had the op and take tablets to dry up my bladder [lost cause]

Definitely twice a day, sometimes three times.

I clearly don't drink enough.

I was once told by a nurse practioner friend who had an interest in this as she had severe problems with her kidneys "if you don't pee every three hours you are not drinking enough".

Is it possible for a healthy person to pee too much? I am not sure. Surely it is a sign that you are drinking a healthy amount of fluid and your kidneys are working.

It can be a sign of diabetes though can't it? Particularly if you have to get up in the night to do so.

DEpends how bored I am.

I'm not being facetious, if I'm busy I don't go. If I'm a bit under occupied, I probably go between 50-100% more often.

I have a tendancy to know i need to go but will put if off until i'm finished doing whatever i'm doing and then starting another job... by the time i have a few minutes free i realise i don't have to go anymore... it's like my body reabsobs it

Oh so judging by the responses on here I may not hyave a problem.....

In my pod there are 4 females and we are keeping a taly of how many times we pee today. £ of us are similar and teh other one is clearly a camel.
