I just know I won't sleep well tonight, and didn't sleep well last night, and if I don't get a good long sleep I will seriously lose the plot.

If you think you won't sleep well then of course you won't...believe me I know!!! Damn subconcious!

Best sleep aid I have found is Clipper Organic Sleep Easy tea. Not very yum but a good strong cup of that and it usually gets me off to sleep for the whole night (or until bladder is really FULL!!! But no prob's getting back to sleep after either.)

Thanks for your post . I am not a tea drinker but is it bearable and where would I buy it from?

DH and I were not friends last night so I was stressed going to sleep and then he woke me yp at 2 to get a drink and then I just kept waking up every half hour or so.

I use boots nytall or however they spell it when I need it.
Not the herbal one , that doesn't touch me, the hard core one, which is an anti-histamine I think.

FabIsFallingApart · 20/03/2010 09:32

I think there is a problem with me taking that as I have asthma but I could ask the pharmacist. Thank you.

I have asthma and take it with no problem

FabIsFallingApart · 20/03/2010 09:49

Thank you. I am off shopping now.

Fab...I get mine in Holland and Barrett. I'm not a tea fan either, just a sleep fan. I was told this was my only option as I'm pg...doc gave a big NO to taking over the counter sleeping pill things.

FabIsFallingApart · 20/03/2010 11:57

I had a look in Boots but didn't think any of the products fitted what I wanted. Thanks though.

You have to ask at the counter, Fab, they aren't on the shelves.

FabIsFallingApart · 20/03/2010 17:14

I will bear that in mind for next time, thanks.

Was a little that there was nit stuff in with the sleep aids.

BranflakeGirl · 21/03/2010 13:52

Maybe the nits can't sleep either?!

harimosmummy · 21/03/2010 13:57

Fab - if you would like, you could borrow my two children.

They never sleep at night. Looking after them for a few nights should have you sleeping during the day no problems!

(and yes, they are both FAST asleep now - why I'm MNing!)

being flippant... Hope you are OK and find a solution.

How about a hypnosis CD. Paul McKenna has literally saved my life over the last few weeks as I have PND and sleep problems since Christmas.

MiffyWhinge · 21/03/2010 16:25

Could you get some zopiclone from your GP?

FabIsGettingThere · 21/03/2010 16:36

The GP refuses to give me any sleeping tablets.

I want something I can take and then be knocked out for a good few hours but DH says sleeping tablets don't work like that.

I only wanted to sleep once in the day to catch up really.

I might have some warm milk tonight, that works surprisingly well.

BranflakeGirl · 21/03/2010 17:37

Definately try the warm milk...or some Horlicks, yum! I used to have that before I developed a dairy allergy.

PfftTheMagicDragon · 21/03/2010 17:58

Not that I take them recreationally but I always found antihistamines would knock me out. They woudln't make me sleep and sleep, but by a certain time I just couldn't keep my eyes open any more.
