Best place to start witn info on HIV??

Hi All.

I know this is a wild shot but I have just found out my Dad is HIV +. My Mum (they are now separated, she is ok) tells me it was diagonosed very early and that he is now in a type of remission and it will never develop into AIDS or directly kill him. I want to check out the facts for myself though and don't know where to start.
Any ideas anybody?

I'm sorry for your situation.

I just thought I'd tell you this to reassure you as for people of our generation HIV can be seen as something awful- its now regarded in medical fields as managable as diabetes and loads of people who use the reto-viral drugs often test HIV negative (of course they have to keep taking them). Its not as hideous as it once was and I'm sure your dad will get excellent care. x x x x

Oh thats really kind Elsa123 thank you. Its seems so rarely talked about now. Looking at some of the facts/figs was reassuring but as I didn't know all of the facts about my Dad (he doesn't know I know- Mum told me) it was hard to make sense of it.
