18yr with wisdom tooth pain -is that normal?

Have googled and apparently most people don't notice when the wisdom teeth come in.
I am wondering if she needs to see the dentist . She is finding it hard to eat and has full sympathy for all babies and toddlers now.

It might be worth her seeing the dentist - pain could be due to it rotting or impacted and moving around.

Mine were a pain about 20-24yo. Had one out a couple of years ago as was impacted and causing havoc.

at rotting
there isn't much to see
not looking overly inflammed to me

Might be in the root.

There is only one way to find out...

Both of my DC had pain at that age, as did I. DS's turned out to be impacted and he had them removed, with me and DD it was just the pain of the tooth pushing through the gum.

Have you got any antiseptic mouthwash, or bonjela or similar? If she's in constant pain though, I'd see the dentist.

Same as cat64- was told it was normal, they were very painful and i often could not go to work because of the pain. They are fine now, i did have one out a few years ago but the others are fine.

Was 18 when I met dh. He was 17. On our first date we both had wisdom tooth pain where they were coming through. One of mine is still not properly through 11yrs later but it's getting there. The others all took around 7 or 8yrs to come all the way through. Stopped being painful once the gum was broken though.
