Advice on baby thermometers?

Hello, our baby has just been born and (as well as a room thermometer) we thought an ear/skin thermometer would be useful.
Does anyone have any recommendations or advice on this, as there is a large choice of thermometers out there? thanks

i use a braun thermoscan digital in ear thermometer. afaik the 'in ear ones' are the most accurate and they are used by doctors. bit expensive though at about £40. they sell them in boots.
although for some reason you get the urge to check their temp all the time like me!
