I had loop excision treatment for CIN3 in November 2007 and have had 2 colposcopies and 3 clear smear tests since then. Last smear was with hpv test in November and both negative.
Last week I noticed tinges of blood in what looks like normal discharge. It happened a couple of times over the course of the week, and was only noticeable on the toilet paper, and on close examination. I was probably mid-cycle at the time, but I've never noticed this before, and I'm a bit freaked out, given my history. Not on the pill and haven't had sex recently. Went to GP on Friday and she examined my cervix and said it looked ok. She took swabs in case of infection and I should get results at the end of the week. She didn't think I needed another smear. I'm a real worrier about my health and I'm concerned this could be serious. I suppose what I'm asking is whether I should push for further examination like colposcopy. Would be really grateful for any advice from those in the know
