What the heck is going on with my cycle????

I'm hoping someone will be able to offer some advice. My period was due to start on 25 Feb. DH and I had a couple instances during the month when we weren't careful. I had absolutely no PMT symptoms so took a pregnancy test on the 25th (negative). I still hadn't come on by the 28th so took another (negative). I then got really sick (scarlet fever) and was pumping myself of all sorts of drugs. I still have not come on, but on Saturday I had really light spotting (thought I was coming on). Nothing yesterday and today a little light spotting as well.

I am so confused and getting really frustrated. Could being ill mess up my cycle this badly?? I'm worried to do another test in case it is positive - why would I be spotting if I were pregnant? That can't be a good sign.

Can anyone offer any advice??

Firstly, all kinds of things can knock your cycle off kilter.

Secondly, do a test! It will put your mind at rest. And if it is positive, spotting doesn't have to mean anything bad - I had spotting with my pregnancy and the result is now 5 and happily snoring away upstairs!

Sometimes worrying about being pregnant can delay period - mother nature likes playing tricks!

Spotting is no big deal a lot of the time. If you are pregnant it could be due to implantation. I had it with both my boys.

Alternatively it could be something like a cervical erosion which sounds horrible and it can cause odd bleeding and spotting but which won't do you any harm.

It is not necessarily a bad thing.

I agree with missmoopy - take another test. The other two may have been too early to tell. Maybe being ill did mess up your cycle but unless you test you won't know for sure.

Hope you get the result you want.

Thanks for your suggestions. I will get another test tomorrow morning and see what's going on. I don't know what result I'm hoping for. For a couple of reasons, it is the wrong time for a baby. At the same time, a part of me is secretly hoping that it is positive. I'm so confused. I'll let you know what the result is tomorrow.

Whats the verdict?

Negative. I am even more confused now!!

Oh dear. How do you feel about it?

Maybe a trip to the doctors is in order? Either that or wait a week and see if your cycle sorts itself out.

Might be worth talking to GP. Cycles frequently change and have a little wibble but if you are worried it is worth getting it checked out.
