Urinary tract infections can be more common if you're pregnant, alas, for various different reasons :-/

I used to get them all the time, prob because I have a slightly tilted uterus and I have PCOS which are both contributory factors. Anyway, to cut a long story short I had UTIs every 3 months for nearly 2 years and took antibiotic after antibiotic to get rid of them. Even after a course of antibiotics I never felt like it had gone away and still got a lot of discomfort. Eventually I was helped by a 3 month course of a very low grade, all purpose, antiseptic kind of antibiotic prescribed by a specialist.

It's not possible to take a 3 month course of tablets while you're pregnant and if you haven't really been prone to UTIs then you'll prob find that it clears up after the baby is born.

In the meantime though, drinking lots of fluid is always a good idea, avoid normal tea/coffee and spicy food, use a hot water bottle on your lower abdomen (but not too hot) to help with any stinging pain or cramps, stay out of the cold and cranberry juice. All these things tend to help with the symptoms even if they don't get rid of the infection altogether. Hope it clears up soon for you!!
