Dad apparently has a really nasty cough that has been going on for a couple of weeks now. Also his leg, below the knee, has gone rock solid (he has extensive diabetic neuropathy and well dodgy circulation).

Will he see the GP about this ? No.

Mum had her back reinjected last week, and that has worked this time to remove that pain. So she stopped all her painkillers (inc morphine) - and of course, has now found where she hurts in addition to her back.

Will she go to the GP ? No.

Just off to find a nice brick wall to bang my head on...

I have the same problem with my granny. Granny complains that this hurts or that hurts, she has complained all last week about how she's practically crippled with her ankle which seems to keep seizing up and her knee hurts and her back hurts etc etc

I say why don't you go to the dr's granny? Phone them

Her answer is that oh no she doesn't need to see a dr about this it will go away on it's own. I'm thinking it probably won't.

I think it stems from when she was a child and you had to pay for a dr therefore you didn't see one unless you really really had to.

May I join you by the nice brick wall?
