DD has a blood test on monday. Being a good nurse and being very nosy and overinvolved i've just had a google because I didn't know what Amylase was (disclaimer - i sort of knew it was some sort of enzyme but not specifically).

so now i know but there's some contradictory stuff i've just read (being the intrnet i'm not surprised)

Does it have to be a fasting sample or not?

Not a doctor here, but I had it checked two years ago (along with other blood tests) and no one told me not to eat before.

no mention of fasting here
they should have said if she needed to fast
