I've had a productive cold since before Christmas.

That's it really. I feel very run down. The cold is productive and I keep coughing up green stuff (SORRY FOR TMI). My nose and sinuses are constantly blocked.
It's stopping me going swimming or running. I feel out of breath if I am on my bike with the kids.

I saw GP 2 weeks ago and he Px'd Antibiotics (amoxycillin). I finished the course more than a week ago but it doesn't seem to have helped much.

What can i do?

Angelina, I'm with you all the way! Had flu in December and then seemed to just catch continous colds - I don't believe my sinuses have bee clear for three months now. I had a cough which turned into a chest infection and took an inhaler and two courses of amoxycillan to clear, then about two weeks later got nasty tonsilitis and last week I got an ear infection which resulted in a burst ear drum and more antibiotics - finsihed yesterday.

I have been soooooooooooooooooo fed up with persistant cold symptomns and the resulting infections I want to scream!

Anyway, if your chest is not cleared you should go straight back to your GP and get him to listen again incase it's not cleared.

Well angelina.. I gave up dairy a long time ago and don't get a snifffle . I know when i've had a small amount i immediately get the whole runny nose, eyes, cough thing . i know it is deffo dairy what gives it to me.

I was also wandering in to say go for food diary and possibly get advice to try eliminating dairy or similar - ds1 was permanently like this, which is a typical allergy symptom, before we got him diagnosed with CMPI

Thanks for responses. I have made an apt w GP for later today. Will report back.

And... I've had a nagging suspicion ab dairy for a while. I've heard before that milk is mucogenic but I haven't had the will power to cut back until now. I'll give it a go in the hope of being able to breathe normally again soon.
