Post natal carpal tunnel syndrome?

This is a post pregnancy query, but has anyone who already has any DC experienced this before? I had it a bit at the start of my pregnancy, it went away, but now I am suffering from it again when I go to bed. It is not painful, but sufficiently annoying to keep me awake/disturb my sleep. Any good suggestions on tackling this?

Hi, I don't have any suggestions but I do have the same problem! Had it very bad last 4-5 weeks of pregnancy, my son is now 9 months and it's come back this week.
I believe mine is caused in part by manoeuvring the buggy through a very heavy door, there's a lot of outstretched wrist action which I am trying to avoid but any other advice would be welcomed by me too.

I had this soon after ds was born. My doctor said it's to do with all the extra fluid that builds up during pregnancy draining away (I think). She said it gets worse if you clench your hands up so she had me tie a lolly stick thing across my middle finger to keep my fists open at night.

It went away after a few weeks anyway.

I had the same following birth of DD1. I saw a friend who is an occupational therapist. She made me a hand brace to wear over night. This worked so much better than the physio the GP arranged. It went after 3/4 weeks I've not had it since.

Thanks for the advice - I think I will ask my GP about a brace.
