I think that's one of the symptoms of IBS.

kreecherlivesupstairs · 02/03/2010 09:46

Being very nosey here, but do you drink alcohol in the evening? I find that if I have a couple of cans of lager or some wine, I get rather loose the next day.

MamaG · 02/03/2010 11:22

Really littlerach?

kreecher - i do have the odd glass of wine, but not every night, not even every week

I am the same, have IBS.
Normally have to go urgently within an hour of getting up. I now make sure I get up early enough, so I never have dash straight out of the house.

jenduff · 02/03/2010 11:40

MamaG · 02/03/2010 13:27

Do you eat a lot of fruit? Have you changed your diet recently? I once went on a fit for life type healthy eating thing which involved about 40 pieces of fruit a day (juiced) and had the most explosive diarrhoea ever but only first thing in the morning. I had to hang about close to home until I had my morning squits. Farting was a no no.

MoChan · 02/03/2010 13:40

Candida infestation can cause bowel oddnesses, can't it?

You have to give up sugar and stuff to clear that up.

Goober · 02/03/2010 13:46

DH is same. IBS.

TigerFeet · 02/03/2010 13:49

I have IBS
not explosive but urgent and sudden, about half an hour or so after waking
funnily enough when i was pg and had hyperemesis and could eat nothing but jelly beans, haribo and bacon butties it was fine
now i am eating properly again it has come back

so it's a diet of haribo and bacon sandwiches for you my dear

purplepeony · 02/03/2010 14:00

Do you eat a lot of wheat?
I have mild IBS which is food related. I normally go to the loo within 30 minutes of getting up - and have to rush some days.

I noticed a huge improvement when I gave up wheat and find that if I eat some now the rush happens again!

PureAsTheColdDrivenSnow · 02/03/2010 14:03

oh god, I've got this at the moment.

What are the other symptoms of IBS?

littlerach · 02/03/2010 16:35

Alternate either diarhoea or constipatin.
Urgency for the latter.
Bloating
Wind
Pain

Isn't it lovely?

I have it mildly but it was quite bad a year or so ago.

I have reduced the maount of fibre through wholemeal that I eat, os less brown bread and rice, and all white pasta. It doesn't sound healthy in itslef but it works for my body. I have also reduced the amount of wheat that I eat. I have cut down on cheese a huge amount .

I am veggie too so it has been harder!

Worst food fo rme is Pizza Hut pizza. I cannot eat it at all now.

MamaG · 02/03/2010 16:42

Yeah I'm a veggie too

haven't changed diet though recently (although I did have a chinese takeaway t'other night for first time in agesO
