I'm considering sterilization and have some questions!

After trying many forms of hormonal contraceptive and having problems with all of them I have thought long and hard and have started to think that sterilization might be the right thing for me.

So I would like to know..

How is it done?
Are you awake when its done?
does it hurt?
How long is recovery time?

TIA

Its done under general so you are asleep.

Its keyhole surgery so tiny incision just below belly button and another tiny one bikini line.

Very quick, I went down at 10am and was home by 1.30pm.

They put a clip on each tube, not removable on the nhs and low reversal stats.

I was uncomfy for a few days and was back to work a week later.
