other than gp is there anywhere else you can go for a smear?

Need to get one done (26 never had 1) but don't want to go to my GP. Any other options?

Your gp, or your whole surgery? because I'm sure the practice nurse could do it. If you don't want to go there at all, maybe your local gum clinic could do it.

Also you can see any GP at your surgery, not just the one you are registered with. Most are done by practice nurses though.

Fpc, well woman clinic, gu clinic will all do pap tests. As the others have said if you ring to book a pap test appointment then it would usu be with a practice nurse as they do most of them. Generally you're better off seeing someone who does lots and regularly as they're the most familiar with the kit.

Do try and go around mid-cycle and don't use lubricants or douches immediately before hand.
