Levothyroxine and Carbimazole advice please

I've taken Carbimazole for overactive thyroid for two months now and levothyroxine for around 10 days and my hands are not shaking anymore which is great. However, I started to feel horrible yesterday and it's getting worse. Very weak and tired, head aches and so clumsy that even getting dressed takes ages. Can this be because of the levothyroxine? Has anybody else experienced anything similar?

I'll call my GP tomorrow for his opinion but he hasn't known very much about the whole thyroid thing so far.

some people have problems with carbimazole, or it could be your dose is wrong for the thyroxine.
i have had thyroid problems for years and no matter how lovely my gp is they have never been that great with it. ask to be refered to an endocrinologist, they have a much better understanding of all the test results and will help you manage more effectively.

I'm by no means an expert and only have experience of levothyroxine for underactive thyroid.

I had understood that you don't get adverse reaction to thyroxine itself as it just replaces what you make naturally. Yes, you can get too much but I would have thought that would take longer to manifest than 10 days. As I say, not sure for your circs though.

I would definitely agree with nancy re getting a referral to an endocrinologist. GPs don't on the whole seem great with the whole thyroid level/dosing thing.

Thanks, I'll call my GP tomorrow. I am still waiting to see an endocrinolist, first appointments were four months away...
