Help! Can't find DS's red book - can he be vaccinated without it?

DS is due for his MMR tomorrow. We can't find his red book anywhere!

(Does every health authority do red books? It's his record of all his jabs, growth, etc).

Does anyone know, will they let him have his MMR without it?

TIA

they will. it will all go on his notes anyway, red book very helpful but not a major issue if not there. they will ask you for it though - youll have to explain

PotPourri · 23/02/2010 22:13

I think so. I think they will give you a page to add to it when it turns up.

och ay. The book is really just so you have a record of what jabs have been given when.

Your gp practice will have a note of them all as well

Thanks everyone. DP's going to take DS and hope for the best.

The GPs at our Drs are brilliant, but the admin staff are a law unto themselves! I really don't envy my DP having to get past them tomorrow morning, I really doubt it'll be straightforward.

I always forget the red book . DS and DD have been vaccinated.

DD had swine flu jab today, and doc didn't want it!
I forgot it last time, so having remembered it I wanted to thwack him over the head with it and say, 'Just bloody write it in!!'

I was turned away two weeks ago when wanted to take the BGC for my son and had forgotten the red book... Got all sorts of c**p about live vaccinations and was told to come back with the book... Hope that you have more luck.

That makes me really on your behalf, america!

DP went today, it was fine!
