Hiya,

I had this procedure done last Monday and have a couple of concerns. I can't see or speak to my surgeon until my 6 week check and I'm not medically trained so most information I google is for medical professionals and I dont understand it.

Hopefully some has had or knows of someone who has had this done (crosses fingers).

Basically I am still prolapsing and also I want to know what happens to the staples?

Puppie, I haven't had this procedure, but didn't want you to go unanswered, as it must be concerning for you.

Did the hospital give you a number to call if you had any post op. problems? I think you should be able to ask them if you can see a consultant, or other doctor in the department before six weeks.

Failing that I would go to your GP and say you have concerns and you are still prolapsing - and could s/he refer you back to the hospital quicker than six weeks. Also ask him/her about the staples - I would guess they just stay inside you - but I don't know.

Sorry thats not very helpful, but at least will give you another bump.

Thanks KurriKurri,

hospital has not given me a number, aftercare was really shoddy with no-one to ask any questions of as they were ALL agency staff. They sent me home with leaflets about a completely different procedure and not a clue of what to expect in the following days.

I will try my GP next.

Thats not good care is it? You should get an information sheet about what's normal post -op and what isn't. Anyway good luck with your GP, hope it gets sorted soon
