OK, i have another thread running, but think it might have run its course, and that its a rather dull subject is it not!
So, i thought i would be cheeky and do another one, a nice new fresh one, as i am a little worried.
Had mirena coil fitted about 4-5 weeks ago? Been bleeding mildly and regularly since, some cramping, some lower abdominal pain (not severe), and some digging in of the threads. GP said this would settle after a few days, the digging stopped after about 6 days or so, but the rest continued, including swollen abdomen.
Last couple of days, had digging in again, right by wall of vagina, so had a check, and felt a bit of 'wire' right by entrance of vagina, plus a swollen lumpy section all along the entrance and inside. And today my abdomen is hurting a bit more than usual, back pain is increasing, pain in what i think is the pevlic area? but not sure.
I am a bit worried it has expelled, so i googled {i know don't do it} and have read about risks of perforating the womb, it being lost inside, sticking to the uturus, and pelvic inflammatory infection...so now i am concerned.
I will see the gp tomorrow, but know he will be not be able to not anything until i make an appt with the nurse.
Should i just pop into A&E and tel them to remove it in case it is serious? Or is all this usual with the coil?
