12 wk jabs - how long did your baby feel grumpy?

Hello there

My baby had her 12week jabs 4days ago and is still in a grump. She did go off her food abit to begin with but is abit better on that now, and has had a couple of screaming sessions too. Is it ok for her to still feel abit off?

Also am abit concerned about the whole MMR/Autism thing as my brother has Aspergers and my fathers behaviour leads me to believe that he may have too.

Any thoughts?

Hi, it was a week to ten days for all DDs jabs,
off her food, restless, grumpy, generally out of sorts, gave calpol on first couple days at night then just grinned and beared it.

Autism usually shows after the 2nd birthday.and taht it why it has been linked to MMR, but the study that linked it was seriously discreditted last year, it was based on a survy of just 50 children.

Your brother's aspergers and your father's behviour must be making you worried. Speak to your GP and / or HV so you can put your mind at rest.

Hi, hope your wee one is feeling better.

With regard to MMR, messymissy isn't quite right. I'll like a couple of previous threads for you in case you're interested.

here's one

It's worth noting that the parents involved in the Wakefield study still support him, very much so.

This one contains a VAST amount of gripping info information including numerous links to scientific papers. Hope you find it helpful.

oh FFS iceagethree. the anti vaccination pimping on this forum is shameless.

THERE IS NO LINK BETWEEN MMR AND AUTISM.

this has been proven time after time after time after time. oh and messymessy indeed wasn't quite right. the study was of only 12 children and was discredited 14 years ago.

Wakefield is a crank and has been held to account. even the clinic he set up have now ousted him. no credible immunologist supports the MMR-autism link. because it doesn't exist.

there is however a significantly shouty anti vaccination crowd on here who try to spread disinformation at the expense of your child's health. please do read the threads linked to and compare the quality of evidence offered for either side - on the anti vaxx side a few vague primate studies, many of them discredited or irrelavant, blog posts to conspiracy theory websites etc. on the pro-science side a chochrane review and numerous large scale studies showing the complete absence of any link. Go figure.

Jojomama, as I say, there is a great deal of information on those threads you'll find interesting. Hope your baby is much better.

BTW mso is a troll who comes over from the Bad Science forum.

He/she was outed on the thread iceagethree linked too.

BeckyFisseux · 03/03/2010 19:46

And Beachcomber is an anti-vaccine activist / troll who is only here to stir up fear, uncertainty and doubt.

It's quite natural for children to have a reaction to a vaccine - it's designed to do that - Fisseux Jr ran a temperature for a day and was sick in the night after her second MMR - but she was fine after a couple of days, and now has a lifetime of not having to worry about potentially fatal diseases.

Kind regards,

Becky

Beachcomber · 04/03/2010 09:24

Sigh, I'm going to report this one too BeckyFisseux.

maxybrown · 04/03/2010 18:57

Yes because of course, when you have the vaccines you will never contract the illnesses will you?

"designed to do that".....

Oh yes, let's "design" the vaccine so children have a reaction, yes that's a great idea!!! I mean what would be the point of "designing" one with no reaction

Designer vaccines

I forget how many experts who already KNOW that there is no link with ANY child. Fancy wakefield going through all that when they could have asked all these people here and elsewhere! tch.....
