Smelly semen- sorry if it's TMI

Really noticed a funny smell to this after I'd been to the loo- quite unpleasant. Anyone else come (sorry) across this- he's had the snip if that makes a difference.

are you sure it's him and not you? because things like bacterial vaginosis (sp?) can cause a nasty odour in your bits after sex.

if you think it is him, then what did he eat yesterday? I think diet can have a big impact and (sorry if tmi), I think it's more noticeable if they haven't had relief for a while iykwim

if it's a really horrible smell and persists, I would tell him to waltz down the GP or health clinic just in case there's some sort of infection lurking in him somewhere

Definitely not me- and yes, you may have a point about "relief"- probably last had sex 2 or 3 weeks ago.

Im glad you posted this...I have the same problem with my DH.....I know this because it even smells when he hasnt erm cm*e in me..

I have even told him, and he is convinced there is no problem.

Does what they eat can affect the smell, and erm taste?

I can't say I have conducted any serious research into this. I'm sure one of our sexperts will be along dreckly.

ISNT- yes he's healthy in general.

I've suggested a visit to the doctor.

The smell is defintely stronger when DH has had a drink and/or is dehydrated,( he's also vasectomised,) the thicker and more gloopy it is, the stronger the smell in my experience, the frequency of sex has nothing to do with volume or consistency of semen, it's all down to diet and arousal levels.
