Ciclosporin- is it worth it?

I have very very bad psoriasis which has recently got even worse. Light treatment made a miniscule difference, and I hav recently (last three weeks) started on ciclosporin- 200mg a day. I have had what feels like non-stop cystitis for that time, and have woken up today all shivery with a headache and sore throat. Do I need antibiotics? Will the immunosupressents mean I will be ill forever? Will the psoriasis go away? Is it worth it? I feel like crap, and I still have a horrible scabby face (honestly, it is shocking, people openly stare at me if I leave the house).

i really feel for you florence. I used to work for the dermatology company called Stiefel for many years and have sat in on many consultations. There are other immunosuppressants that might be more suitable and might have less side effects for you. ave you tried methtrexate or azathioprine before. Have they offered you PUVA at all. Has your gp prescribed the coaltar preps which are made up specially. Have you tried cocois ointment for any plaque in your hair line.

another treatment is protopic ointment which is an immunosuppressant cream

I have the same problem- it was a relief to come off cyclosporin, tbh. I was permanently ill. I have actually come to not mind the psorasis as much as the treatment. Shit though- my sympathies.
