Tonsil problems and pregnant - will they be able to do anything?

Am 38 weeks and have had a virus for 6 days. Started with cold symptoms and sore joints etc, then sore and swollen tonsil. Then tonsil stopped being sore but didn't deflate that much, still felt quite weak but thought I was getting better. Last two days tonsil v swollen and odd feeling, feels like there's swelling at the back of my nose and down my throat. No throat pain but did have deaf ear and pain this morning which mostly disappeared with hot water bottle. Have been sick a few times, just because throat is irritated I think. Iget anxious about my throat closing up and not being able to swallow so have spent weekend gagging and crying Am going to make a doctor's appointment in the morning but are they likely to try and put me off as pregnant? TIA

I always get tonsilitis when I'm pregnant and can really sympathise (in fact its normally my first/only pregnancy symptom!). Mine gets that bad that I am sick/gagging too.

If its any consolation, I think its just due to being run down and it does go away.

I was given antibiotics which cleared it up in a couple of days even though I'd had it for weeks and couldnt shift it.

Hope you're feeling better soon.

Thanks sb6699, it's good to know that they managed to get rid of it quickly for you. It's definitely still there this morning so going to get on the phone now. Couldn't get to sleep last night because my throat was too blocked
