I've found a lump on my cervix

I'm currently TTC and have been checking my cervix to pinpoint ovulation. A couple of months ago, during ovulation when my cervix was low, I found what felt like a grain of sand on my cervix. The following month it felt the same and after OV I couldn't feel it anymore because my cervix was too high. This cycle it feels bigger and softer like a cooked grain of rice and i'm feeling a bit nervous about it. I've never had a child and my last normal smear was 18 months ago, what should I do? Should I see the GP or just book in for a smear and mention it to the nurse? Can anyone offer me any reassurance about what it might be?

this is very very common (bumps on cervix). get it checked out anyway, but I remember in taking charge of your fertility she discusses this in detail and it's nothing bad.

It's probably a polyp or Nabothian cyst, neither of which are harmful.

Make an appointment with your practice nurse and ask her to check for you.

Thanks sophable, the panic is subsiding slightly now you've said that. Technically i'm not due a smear but maybe that would be the best way to set my mind at rest without making too big of a deal about it.
