Hi! So Sorry only just seen this!
I am now almost 8 wks post op, having had the full lot done including my abdominals tightened and hernia repair.

I feel and look fab-such a difference. The surgeon removed over 1kg of just skin, he said it had no fat behind it just very loose baggy skin! Ok yes, scar is HUGE but so much better than what i had and so very neat!

The recovery was good actually, they advise you to take it slow, which you have no choice as every move uses your tummy so is uncomfy but not sore. I ended up being in hosdpital for a week as the i was 'draining' too much fliud to leave.

I did get a little wound leak due to build up of fluid in week 2 which set me back but overall i feel totally great and saying roll on the summer so i can see the benefits!

The really tough part about it was not being able to pick my baby up and hug him for ages, but we're making up for that now!

Feel free to send me your email i'm happy to discuss anything you'd like to know....xx

Hello
I have a gap of about 8cm and also a hernia that both need repair. It would be great if you could answer some of my questions.

  1. Did you get this op on the NHS?
  2. What is the recovery like. How long were you completely out of action.
  3. When are you allowed to pick up children again. I have 10 months old twins......
Thanks in advance..... Suzy
