Hi
I am going to have a scan today for uterine prolapse - went to see GP on Friday and she did an internal.
Have had continence problems for some time and recently noticed that was not getting a very good stream when peeing and felt like not emptying bladder properly.
Sorry about the TMI
Have had a rectocele for some time now which is manageable
I am less worried about surgery repair - though none of it sounds good but am also very health anxious. My GP felt my abdomen was soft and she couldn't feel any lumps or bumps and felt that this was a prolapse - but I am soo worried about cancer! I know, I have scan today and then I will know but do my symptoms ring any bells with anyone? Mum died 5 years ago of Ovarian Cancer and sooo scared that this is what I have got too....

I don't have any familiarity with your symptoms but I hope your scan goes well and puts your mind at rest. I've got test results later today too, the wait's horrible!

I have had ongoing problems since the birth of ds1, who was huge and was born, I am convinced, holding onto large parts of my insides! I am keeping an eye out for a full prolapse, but I am not there yet. However, my grandmother died very young from cancer, and I can also associate with the way that it plants that fear in your brain, each time you are ill. That fear also got much worse once I had kids, as you are naturally worried about your family too.

Seeing someone you love die early is awful. But treatment is getting better all the time, and early detection is sooo important, as you must know. Once you have got these test results and life can begin again, can you look into bereavement counselling for yourself, if you haven't had any, and also chat with your GP to try to reassure yourself of what to look for, and what not to worry about? Life is so precious, and your mum wouldn't want you to live under a cloud for the rest of your life, worrying about what might happen.

In the meantime, here's thinking about you with your scan today and hoping that you get some really postive support and help.

Thanks Eco mouse and Notquitegrownup. Eco mouse, hope your test results are ok, you are right the wait is horrible! Thanks Notquitegrownup, I think I will chat to my GP as this fear is controlling my life.

Minniethemooch - Good luck with your scan, I have just had a vaginal repair op for a cystocele and rectocele prolaspe, the op and recovery were much better than I expected (I was so anxious beforehand). I totally sypathise with you on your health fears, I am the same, it is a terrifying thing to dwell on even more so when you have dcs IMO. {{{sly hug}}}}

notquitegrownup - that is a lovely post, very well put
