ds2 ( BTW) had a forked bum cheek when born - told the dr. gaily at 6 week check - and he said" well its not spina bifida"

Uneven dimples are a classic symptom of congential hip displacement - the consultant usually checks by listening for a 'click' apparently when examining - dismissed my friends dd, sent her for a x-ray then came back v.applogetic as her leg bone was totally displaced - as in no-where near the hip socket - she also had one leg shorter than the other and ran unevenly - friend noticed it when she first started walking (in the nude too!) got big pat on back from all concerned - HV, hospital etc for picking it up - cast she had on was nightmare to keep 'clean' as she was in nappies - also traction was difficult to go through for all concerned but hopefully yours may not need to go through this - I think they have other less aggressive ways to re-align the bones if the condition isn't as severe - depends on how displaced the joint is
