Has anyone ever BROKEN their TOE?

.

I slipped in the bathroom this morning and my foot and toes banged really hard into wall

I was in agony

And couldn't bend them

Then they looked like they were swollen

Anyway now I have a beautiful shade of purple all over my toe

I still can't bend them

So if I have broken my toes and I went to A&E what would they do apart from Xray

So can I treat at home

I do not want to go to A & E

Do I leave it or do strap it up?

But it is very swollen and so I think that may be the reason

Don't think broken

well if it takes 6 weeks before you can wear uncomfortable shoes again, then you know it was broken!

Dont wish to be the voice of dissent but....... have broken both my little toes in the past and the first time I went to A&E where confirmed it was broken (but did a worse job of strapping it up than dh) ...... and I did have movement in it - albeit bloody painful movement!!!

lou33 · 12/07/2005 23:51

i had movement too polgara

RTKangaMummy · 13/07/2005 00:33

Probably have then

Sorry thought it was right for me to update, but obviously too early though

It really doesn't matter if it's broken, it's not worth worrying about. If it still hurts in two weeks, you did break it.

Seriously, I must have broken toes at least six times. The only one that bothers me is the one that I broke, and then got into a playfight with a boy I liked, and he stepped on it after it was broken. It's still a bit funny looking.

nqc is right, as long as they dont look obviously out of line where they are broken, then everything will be fine.
