Sudden bout of thrush?

My period is due any day and yesterday I started to feel uncomfortable, today is feels like I have quite bad thrush!

I have had Thrush in the past but not for a loong time. Am due to start back on the pill as soon as my period comes as in just over a month I will be starting IVF! I've tested and I am not pregnant.

Why would I just suddenly get thrush and will going on the pill make it worse? Should I just go straight to the doc and get it sorted, i don't want it to be an issue when I start IVF!

You can get thrush meds OTC,but I'd only get them via the chemist if the symptoms are identicial to previous bouts of thrush and you've had the meds before.

Diflucan (fluconazole) tablet and cansten cream will sort it all out.

Bit of a hijack, but I was wondering why fluconazole never seems to work on me??? The pessary always works a treat, but the tablet to swallow makes not a jot of difference. It would be so lovely to be able to take a pill and not have chalky residue coming out of me for a week...
