cherry-flavour medicine - does anyone know what it might be? I thought it was lactulose and gave 2 x 5ml spoons. What signs shall I look for?

I think Tixylix is cherry flavoured, but i think it is clear not yellow.

yeah i would have to say go to a&e really.

if i was sure it was a kids medicine then i wouldn't worry too much,

but if there is a chance it could be anything for an adult then it's best not to take the chance i guess.

and remember everyone... NO UNLABELLED BOTTLES!!!

Agree with everyone else. Go to A&E now. Take rest of bottle. They will do observe and monitor him for a while.

ALWAYS err on the side of caution, they would far rather you went and they checked him out and said he was fine, than you ended up in an ambulance later..

Good luck.

Some medicinal syrups are yellow though. IIRC, codeine linctus used to be.

Definitely have to take him and the bottle to A&E. It's simply not worth taking the risk tbh

been to hospital where a rather bored but very gorgeous doctor said ds would be fine - we have no strong drugs in the house so iti s most likely a childrens cough syrup. Dh washes the bottles when they get sticky so I suspect this is how the label got removed by accident. Apparently unlabelled bottles are a very common cause of accidents in the home so get checking now.

Thanks for your advice.
